Whether it’s understanding policy through the lens of a school administrator or taking a deep dive into using policy alerts and conducting annual policy reviews, our Policy Service webinars offer something for everyone.

“Our goal is to make policy tools accessible, practical, and timely,” said Amanda Bigbee, division director of TASB’s Policy Service. “This webinar lineup empowers districts to stay compliant and stay ahead — and we are so excited about our new on-demand sessions, which will offer even more flexible learning options.”

Each recorded webinar is $50 per viewer.

  • A Day in the Life of a School Administrator
Every school day brings a whirlwind of decisions, interruptions, and unexpected twists. As a campus administrator, you’re not just managing a building, you’re navigating a constantly shifting landscape of people, policies, and high-stakes choices. Now, you can experience that fast-paced reality with an eye towards board policy in an immersive, on-demand format designed for leaders like you.
  • Unlock the Secrets to Proper Policy Archiving
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission requires school districts to permanently preserve local policies as ordinances, orders, and resolutions, but many districts discover gaps only when it's too late. Maybe you've faced a court order for a specific version of a policy, or maybe you're unsure whether your archive meets state standards. If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone, and there's a clear way forward.
  • Regulations Matter!
Understanding and managing your district’s administrative regulations and forms is essential for smooth operations and compliance. But knowing where to find templates, how to edit documents correctly, and where to store them can sometimes be confusing. You’ll learn how to access sample templates, develop editing techniques, and establish organized systems for housing your district’s administrative regulations and forms.
  • Mastering Numbered Updates: A Step-by-Step Guide
Are you looking to streamline your district’s policy management? Stay ahead of the curve as we walk you through the process of managing numbered updates. Whether you’re new to the system or want to boost your efficiency, this session is packed with essential strategies and tips that will save you time and help ensure compliance.
  • Aligning Policy with Practice Using Policy Alerts
Your district’s policies are only as strong as their alignment with practice, and Policy Alerts help keep both in sync. Receive guidance on how to use Policy Alerts effectively and conduct annual policy reviews that support consistency, compliance, and clarity across your district.
  • Board Policy & the Business Office
If you’ve ever found yourself digging through documents to confirm your district’s process for budgeting, purchasing, or other financial matters, you’re not alone. The good news? You don’t have to guess. Now available on demand, this hour-long webinar, a collaboration by TASB Policy Service and TASBO, walks you through how to use board policy as a practical tool in your daily work.
  • Policy 101 for Beginners
Board policy isn’t just about adopting updates. It’s a detailed, ongoing process that requires organization, precision, and the right tools. If you’ve ever felt unsure where to start, or how to keep everything running smoothly, this session breaks down the essentials of managing your district’s policies with confidence and clarity.
  • Policy Made Easy: Improving Access and Transparency with Policy Online
Struggling to locate past board resolutions or wondering where your student handbook really lives? If governance documents feel scattered or hard to find, you’re not alone. Many districts face challenges keeping these critical materials organized and accessible to board members, staff, parents, and the community. Learn practical strategies for organizing and sharing your governance documents using the Policy Online® platform.
  • Academic Achievement Policies
Academic achievement is more than a grade point average; it’s a policy framework that shapes student success from gradebooks to graduation. We explore the EI policy series in your district’s policy manual — a powerful set of guidelines that impact grading, report cards, interim progress, class rank, promotion standards, and graduation requirements.
  • Policy Primer for Principals
Policy is a powerful tool that, when understood and applied correctly, can help principals maintain consistent district practices, empower their staff, minimize risk, and simplify many administrative challenges. Yet, without clear guidance, it can feel overwhelming and underutilized. This session offers principals a clear roadmap for effective policy implementation and management. Through practical examples and expert advice, principals will gain the confidence to leverage policy in ways that support their leadership and strengthen their campus practices.
