Mexican American School Boards Association

Founded in 1970 by José A. Cárdenas, then superintendent of Edgewood Independent School District in San Antonio, the Mexican American School Boards Association (MASBA) works to support school board leaders as they advocate for the academic success of Latino communities across the state.

MASBA holds an annual conference, awards meaningful student scholarships, and offers leadership training workshops to advance Latino student outcomes.

Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members

The Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members (TCBSBM) advocates — at both the state and federal level — on behalf of the African American students in Texas.

TCMSBM provides a forum for discussing and advancing the unique issues faced by African American school board members and students throughout the state.

They promote better relationships and understanding between African American school board members, their local communities, and local school boards.
