Salary Survey Update: Superintendent Data

Data from the 2022–2023 TASB/TASA Superintendent Survey is now available on TASB HRDataSource™.

To view Superintendent Survey data, log into TASB HRDataSource, choose Salary and FTE Reports, then Superintendent Pay. Select the criteria for the report. The report will display in the browser, and it can be searched as well as downloaded in PDF or Excel.

Participation Highlights

Participation increased for the second year in a row, and we thank those who took time out of their day to complete the survey.

We received 715 responses, and findings include:

• District characteristics
  • Median student enrollment: 1,163
  • Interim superintendent: 23 (3 percent)
• Superintendent characteristics
  • Median years as a superintendent: 5
  • Working in first superintendency: 472 (66 percent)
  • Working in fourth or fifth superintendency: 15 (2 percent)
  • Retired and returned to a superintendency: 29 (4 percent)

Ongoing and Future Surveys

The District Personnel Salary Survey and the Community College Salary Survey close in late October. Please contact us to request your survey link.

The Extra-Duty Stipend Survey launches soon — survey contacts will receive an email October 20. That survey will run through late November.
