Whether you're newly elected or a veteran trustee, this free webinar is designed to deepen your understanding of how policy empowers effective school board governance. The Texas Education Code entrusts school boards with leading and shaping their districts, and strong policy is the foundation of that work.

In this session, we’ll break down the essentials of board policy and its role in successful governance, including:

  • Who participates in policy development
  • What qualifies as board policy
  • When and how policies are updated
  • Why local policy is vital to your district’s success

You’ll engage with real-time polls and reflections throughout the webinar, helping you connect concepts directly to your board service. Plus, board member participants who attend the live webinar will earn continuing education credit.

Before the Webinar:
To ensure the best experience, please confirm that you have access to TASB Policy Online®. If you need access, email policy.service@tasb.org at least five days before the session.

After registering with Zoom, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the webinar. This link is good for one user; multiple users from your district will need to register separately.
