A new recorded webinar from TASB HR Services, Reporting Abuse and Misconduct and the 89th Legislature, is available now for purchase.

In this webinar, HR Services and TASB Legal Services staff discuss significant legislative changes impacting how child abuse and misconduct are reported in Texas. Viewers will receive a comprehensive overview of key provisions introduced through Senate Bill (SB) 571 and House Bill (HB) 4623 and learn about:

  • Expanded reporting requirements for employee misconduct
  • Inclusion of certain service providers under these mandates
  • Updated expectations for pre-employment and pre-service affidavits
  • Liability standards for public schools and school professionals in cases of sexual misconduct or failure to report abuse (effective Sept. 1, 2025)

The slide presentation handout and a PDF copy of the FAQs will be provided.

The HR Services Resource Library also has useful information and tools to help educational entities manage investigations and the impact of employee misconduct. Member login is required for access.
