Standard Mileage Rates for 2026
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued the 2026 standard mileage rates effective January 1.
The updated rates include a 2.5 cents per mile increase for business use. The standard mileage rates for the use of a car, van, pickup, or panel truck are:
- 72.5 cents per mile driven for business use
- 20.5 cents per mile driven for medical purposes
- 20.5 cents per mile for moving purposes for qualified active-duty members of the Armed Forces
- 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
The rates apply to electric, hybrid-electric, gasoline, and diesel-powered vehicles.
