Understanding the basic components of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) can reduce the district’s risk of wage and hour complaints and costly penalties. This hands-on workshop will help HR and payroll staff understand the federal regulations and learn how to properly calculate nonexempt employee pay.

  • Determining exemption status
  • Identifying compensable time
  • Recognizing when overtime occurs
  • Compensating and managing overtime
