Understanding Wage and Hour Law

Understanding the basic components of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) can reduce the district’s risk of wage and hour complaints and costly penalties. This hands-on workshop will help HR and payroll staff understand the federal regulations and learn how to properly calculate nonexempt employee pay.
Topics covered:
- Determining exemption status
- Identifying compensable time
- Recognizing when overtime occurs
- Compensating and managing overtime
