Texas Trustee Institute offers newly elected or appointed school board trustees an immersive learning experience specifically designed to fit their needs. TTI provides specialized training to create a successful launch into school governance for new board members seeking a strong foundational understanding of their role in improving student outcomes.   

The event is a timely opportunity for trustees elected in November 2026, or recently appointed, to benefit from in-person development opportunities, a networking cohort, and must-have training from content experts.

Tentative Schedule (subject to change)

Jan. 21, 2027: 9:30 a.m. − 4:30 p.m.
Day 1: Governance Foundations, including:
 • Role of a Texas School Board Trustee
 • Working as a Body Corporate
 • School Law 101
 • District Policy 101
 • Your Digital Life as a Board Member

Jan. 22, 2027: 8:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Day 2: Required Trainings
 • Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes (required within 120 days of election or appointment)
 • Texas Open Meetings Act (required within 90 days of election or appointment)

In addition, new trustees will receive free access to on-demand courses, available anytime and anywhere, in the Online Learning Center.

Continuing Education Credit
