This Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) course provides school and district staff with practical, foundational knowledge to help identify, prevent, and respond to common indoor air quality concerns within educational facilities. Participants will learn about emerging IAQ technologies, common causes of air quality complaints, ventilation issues, mold, bacteria, odors, and effective strategies for investigating and addressing occupant concerns. The course also introduces the EPA Tools for Schools Program, basic crisis intervention approaches for IAQ-related complaints, and a brief overview of the Texas Hazard Communication Act (THCA) and its relationship to OSHA's worker right-to-know requirements.

This training is intended for educational purposes only and does not provide any professional license, certification, or regulatory credential, nor does it meet the training requirements of any regulatory agency. Instead, it is designed to equip district personnel with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions and implement best practices that help maintain healthy indoor environments and reduce the likelihood of IAQ issues negatively impacting building occupants.
