As a board officer taking on a leadership role, your governance skills are critical to board-superintendent team effectiveness. To support Texas school board officers in the successful fulfillment of their responsibilities, TASB Board Officer Institute allows you — as an aspiring, new, or current board officer — to find supportive training sessions to meet your needs.
Board Officer Institute training opportunities are available at most TASB conferences. Additional courses are offered on-demand through the Online Learning Center (OLC).
These thoughtful training sessions are designed to expand your confidence with board processes and governance, while also honing your communication skills. Courses may be interactive or self-paced, depending on the offerings you select. In addition, board officers are encouraged to participate in the six-week Board Officer Institute: A Journey to Excellence training, which provides weekly training and three one-on-one coaching sessions.
