TEA Now Accepting Applications for Grow Your Own: Teachers Grants

The Texas Education Agency announced it’s now accepting applications from local educational agencies for the 2019-2021 Grow Your Own: Teachers, Cycle 2 grant program.

Districts, Education Service Centers (ESCs), open-enrollment charter schools, educator preparation programs, and higher education institutions all are invited to apply.

The grant aims to improve the teaching profession in Texas through high-quality training at the high school level. Districts can use the grant to promote teaching as a career in local high schools and encourage students to pursue certifications required for paraprofessionals, teacher aides, and long-term substitutes.

Cycle 2 refers to the second opportunity for districts to apply for the grant, which was first awarded to 25 recipients back in spring of this year. The deadline for Cycle 2 applications is November 13, 2018.

Districts can learn more about the grant and how to apply on the TEA Grant Opportunities page of the TEA website.
