The Texas Education Agency (TEA) announced the opening of the 2021–2023 Grow Your Own Grant Program and the 2021–2022 Principal Residency Grant.
The Grow Your Own Grant Program is intended to recruit teachers through two pathways. Pathway 1 involves recruitment of students at the high school level through offering education and training courses, including for dual credit. Pathway 2 focuses on transitioning paraprofessionals, instructional aides, and long-term substitutes into teaching roles. Applications for the Grown Your Own Grant Program are due November 5, 2020.
The Principal Residency Grant is intended to provide preparation and certification costs to cover a year-long residency for aspiring principals. Applications for the Principal Residency Grant are due October 22, 2020.
