Administrators Get Creative with Multi-District Collaborative Planning Session

Teachers from Freer ISD and Premont ISD came together for the first of what may be many collaborative planning sessions.

Planning sessions are held every nine weeks to prepare for the new curriculum. In smaller school districts, some subjects have only one teacher assigned to teach. Bringing together districts of similar size allows teachers to provide and receive feedback from additional peers from a comparable district. Many of the 75 teachers in attendance gave rave reviews.

According to a Schoology Exchange article, some benefits of collaborative planning include:

  • Increased academic effort
  • Increased understanding of student data
  • More creative lesson plans
  • Less teacher isolation
