The Electronic Records document, available in the HR Library (member login required), has been revised to reflect updates made to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) Local Government Bulletin B.
As more districts move to electronic records, questions arise how to best use their Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other available technology systems for electronic records and processes. This document provides detailed information on implementing, managing, securing, and storing electronic records as well as ideas on how to more effectively complete routine HR processes electronically.
Some sections had minor edits, and the following sections were added:
- Technology requirements
- Destruction of source documents
Implementing an efficient and compliant electronic records system can save time and money and free employees and HR staff to focus on strategic goals.
For more information see the Personnel Records section of the HR Library.
