The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced a 3.5-cent increase in standard mileage rates for the 2019 calendar year, which will go into effect January 1.
Here’s a look at the new rates for 2019:
- 58 cents for every mile of business travel driven, up 3.5 cents from the rate for 2018
- 20 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes, up 2 cents from the rate for 2018
- 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations, which is unchanged from 2018
