Statement from TASB in Response to Tax Reform Conversations
Austin— The Texas Association of School Boards thanks Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Sen. Paul Bettencourt for advancing conversations on thoughtful tax reform for the 2027 legislative session.
TASB looks forward to collaborating with Lt. Gov. Patrick, Sen. Bettencourt, and all state leaders as the details continue to be worked on ahead of 2027 to ensure reliable and sustainable funding for Texas public schools and the 5.5 million school children they educate.
TASB fully supports legislative efforts that make our Texas communities more affordable while improving and supporting our public schools. The ongoing economic success of the Lone Star State requires both strong public schools and strong communities.
