Morton Joins State Association Board

Austin— James Morton has been appointed to represent the education service center (ESC) boards as a voting ex officio director on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors.

Morton is president of the Texas Association of Education Service Centers (TAESC). He has served as vice-chairman on the Region 8 Education Service Center Board for more than 10 years. 

Morton served as a Texas educator for more than 37 years, serving districts in Region 8. The last nine years of his career, he spent as superintendent of Prairiland ISD. He is a past president of the Texas Rural Education Association. 

 Since retiring in 2009, he has served as an education and district advisor for BWA Architects.
