Leadership TASB Welcomes Class of 2027 

The Texas Association of School Boards is pleased to announce the 26 school board trustees selected to participate in the Leadership TASB Class of 2027.

The board members were chosen through a rigorous review process, which concluded with a committee made up of LTASB alumni recommending the class members for approval by the TASB Board’s Member Services Committee during its July meeting.

“On behalf of TASB, I want to congratulate the newest cohort of trustees on their acceptance into Leadership TASB,” said TASB Acting Executive Director Tiffany Dunne-Oldfield. “LTASB continues to be a highly transformative program, designed to challenge and inspire leaders. Over the next year, these trustees will grow in ways they never anticipated as they expand their knowledge of board governance, education policy, and board leadership all with the goal of advancing excellent academic outcomes for the more than 5.5 million public school students in Texas.”

In 1993, LTASB was first developed and designed by school board members for school board members as part of TASB's ongoing commitment to supporting strong local governance among Texas school boards. Since its founding more than 30 years ago, LTASB has proven to be the premier school board trustee training program of its kind in Texas, with more than 1,000 Master Trustees having completed the program.

Each year, a cohort of experienced board members is selected based on demonstrated leadership in their local school district and communities. The trustees represent districts from across the state that vary in size and the student populations they serve.

The Class of 2027’s yearlong program will begin in Houston, Oct. 7-9 at txEDCON, the largest gathering of public school leaders in the state, which is hosted by the Texas Association of School Administrators and TASB.

The members will travel to school districts around the state, with visits to Houston, Abilene, Austin, and Corpus Christi before concluding the program in June 2027 at Summer Leadership Institute in Grapevine. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will earn the Master Trustee designation.
