Guidry Elected to Interim Position on State Association Board

Austin — The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors has elected Myrna Guidry of Houston ISD to an interim position on the TASB Board, representing TASB Region 4, Position D. 

Guidry joined the Houston ISD Board of Education in December 2020. She currently serves as assistant secretary.

She has been an attorney in Houston for 20 years, concentrating on family and probate law. She also has worked as a mediator for several years and continues to serve as an adjunct law professor in mediation at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Guidry has received several honors, including being named among the “10 Best Attorneys” by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2017. 

Guidry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University, followed by her law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston. She holds numerous accreditations in mediation services.

In addition to her professional work, Guidry volunteers with civic and charitable organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; Houston Volunteer Lawyers; the Star of Hope–Miles Ministry; and Riceville Mount Olive Baptist Church.
