Alfaro Reelected to State Association Board

Austin— Moises Alfaro of Mathis ISD (MISD) has been reelected to a three-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 2. The election was held during the Association’s 2025 Delegate Assembly on Sept. 13 in Houston. 

Alfaro has been a board member for MISD since 2015. He is currently the board secretary. He is a former educator, having served as a teacher in Pasadena ISD and a teacher, assistant principal, associate principal, and principal in MISD.    

Currently, he works as a health, safety, and environmental manager for an industrial services contractor in South Texas. Alfaro also works part time for the Education Service Center Region 2 as a field agent. Alfaro earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology from The University of Texas at Austin and a master’s in educational administration and a doctorate in educational leadership from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.    

He was named the 2011 Assistant/Associate Principal of the Year for Region 2 by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals. Moises’ dissertation was also selected to be presented at the AABRI (Academic and Business Research Institute) Conference in 2012.
