New Training Opportunities for Administrators and Supervisors
Registration is now open for two new training workshops designed for administrators and supervisors, Implementing an Intervention Plan and Conducting Employee Investigations.
Administrators and supervisors will benefit from each of these half-day sessions provided in a convenient, virtual format. Each workshop is 3 hours, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Implementing an Intervention Plan is scheduled for January 16, 2025. This workshop provides administrators and supervisors practical guidance to successfully develop and implement an intervention plan to address ineffective employee performance. Strategies provided will support specific actions and strategic leadership in managing employee performance.
Topics covered include:
- Developing and implementing an intervention plan
- Providing quality feedback
- Handling difficult employees
- Supporting employment decisions related to performance
Conducting Employee Investigations is scheduled for May 8, 2025. This workshop provides administrators and supervisors practical guidance on how to successfully handle employee investigations addressing employee wrongdoing and how to recommend and support employment action when necessary. Participants will work through real-life examples and apply their learning through discussion and problem-solving opportunities.
Topics covered include:
- Responding to reports of misconduct
- Planning and conducting an employee investigation
- Documenting and recommending employee discipline
- Special investigations

HR Services members can also arrange on-site or virtual training that can be customized to meet the unique needs of their entity. Participation can be limited to staff, or serve as a host by inviting other entities to participate and share the cost of consulting fees.

Jennifer Barton
Jennifer Barton joined HR Services in 2018. She manages employee engagement surveys and assists with compensation planning, training, and other HR projects. Prior to joining TASB, Barton served for 19 years in Texas public schools as a principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach.
Barton earned master’s degrees in education and educational leadership from The University of Texas at Austin and Lamar University. She holds a Texas superintendent certificate and is a SHRM-CP.
