Webinar Registration Open for: “A Candidate’s View Into Board Service”

Prospective school board trustees are encouraged to attend a free webinar hosted by the Texas Association of School Boards’ Board Development Services. The session will provide school board candidates with a realistic look at board service.

“A Candidate’s View Into Board Service” will cover topics ranging from campaigning for office to board service to the roles and responsibilities of a trustee to key filing dates. The session is designed for candidates for school board but also will benefit anyone interested in better understanding the work that trustees and school boards do in support of students.

The live webinar will be offered on Feb. 3 from 7-8 p.m. and again on Feb. 4 from noon to 1 p.m.

Attendees can expect to learn:

  • The campaign process and work required
  • What board service is really like
  • The role of a trustee compared with the role of the administration
  • How to campaign effectively
  • Key information every candidate needs, including filing dates

While the sessions are free to attend, registration is required. And for those participants who wish to attend but cannot, a recording will be made available - if preregistered.

Registration is now open.

Feb. 3, 7-8 p.m.

Feb. 4, noon-1 p.m.
