Raymond Elected to State Association Board

(Austin) — Tony Raymond of Sabine ISD has been elected to a one-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 7. The election was held during the Association’s 2021 Delegate Assembly on September 25 in Dallas.

Raymond is president of the Sabine ISD Board of Trustees, a position he has held since 2016. He was elected to the board in 2004. In 2016, he helped establish the Sabine Education Foundation. Since its inception, the foundation has raised more than $350,000 and has distributed funds in teacher grants and student scholarships.

In 2012, Raymond joined Rotary International and has held leadership positions in his local club. He also is actively involved in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, a program designed to help young people develop leadership skills. Raymond also has served since 2005 as a scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 259. As a scoutmaster and tenured leader, he helps train other adults to serve as scout leaders.

For more than 25 years, Raymond has worked as a sales professional in a variety of industries. He is currently employed at Ubeo Business Services.

TASB is a nonprofit association established in 1949 to serve local Texas school boards. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 5.4 million public school students.
