Bhikha Joins State Association Board

(Austin)—Kamlesh (KB) Bhikha has been appointed to represent the education service center (ESC) boards as a voting ex officio director on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors.

Bhikha has served on the Education Service Center Region 2 Board of Directors since 2015 and is the current president of the Texas Association of Education Service Centers. He is a member of Leadership Corpus Christi, a community-building initiative led by the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on various boards, including the Westside Business Association, the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the local YMCA, where he teaches yoga.

Bhikha is a native of India, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and worked for his family’s business. In 1993, he became a US citizen and moved to Texas to pursue a management career in the hotel industry. Currently, he is the owner of the Quality Inn in Kingsville. 

TASB is a nonprofit association established in 1949 to serve public school boards. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 5.4 million public school students.
