Phillips Reelected to State Association Board

(Austin) — The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reelected Nicholas Phillips of Nederland ISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 5.

Phillips has served on the Nederland ISD school board for more than eight years. He has held several leadership positions, including board secretary, vice-president, and president. In addition, he is a Leadership TASB graduate and Master Trustee.

Phillips is the associate principal at West Brook High School in Beaumont ISD. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lamar University.

TASB is a nonprofit association established in 1949 to serve local public school boards. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 5.3 million students.
