Meza Reelected to State Association Board

(Austin)—The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has reelected Raymond P. Meza of San Felipe Del Rio CISD to a three-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 15.

Meza has served on the San Felipe Del Rio CISD Board of Trustees since 2007 and is currently serving his third term as the Place IV trustee. A Leadership TASB graduate, he has held several leadership positions, including board president and vice-president.

Meza attended Sul Ross University, earning a bachelor of science and master’s in secondary education. He has certifications in bilingual, early childhood, and midmanagement in school administration. A retired educator, his experience in education includes serving as a kindergarten and a sixth-grade teacher, and a middle school principal.

He also has served the community as past president of the Lion’s Club, president of the local United Way, elected member of the Val Verde Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, and vice-president of the appraisal board.

TASB is a nonprofit association established in 1949 to serve local public school boards. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state. The districts they represent serve more than 5.3 million students.
