HR Services staff hear stories about employees in public education all over the state, and some of those stories are pretty unbelievable. This year’s HR Academy wrapped up with a fun and funny final activity called Two Lies and a Truth.
We thought an entertaining way to finish up Academy would be to have participants guess which unbelievable employee stories were true and which were fictitious. We also thought we’d provide some much-needed comic relief and dress up as the characters in the employee stories.
If you didn’t get a chance to see it live, you can check out the recorded version of Two Lies and a Truth. An answer guide is also available. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed performing it.
Here are a few things I learned:
- HR Services is full of undiscovered and untapped acting talent.
- HR Services also is full of staff who are willing to go above and beyond to participate in a team activity, even if that means wearing fake mustaches, wigs, or tinfoil hats.
- I would make a terrible Saturday Night Live actor because I am incapable of keeping a straight face when other people are being funny.
In addition to having a good laugh, I hope you feel encouraged to reach out to us if you need help and guidance, or if you just need to share a wacky story about something crazy an employee did. We’re here to listen (and maybe will use your story in a future Two Lies and a Truth event). And we’ll remind you that you’re not alone! Crazy stuff happens all over the state, and sometimes you just need to share the story with someone else who understands that you can’t make this stuff up.
