TEA to Award ADSY Grants

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is accepting applications for the Additional Days School Year (ADSY) Planning and Execution Program.

House Bill 3 created the ADSY which adds funding for school systems with additional instructional days for elementary schools. TEA is launching the ADSY Planning and Execution Program in order to support districts in planning, designing, and managing the addition of those instructional days.

Two cohorts will be selected for the program based on their chosen implementation:

  • Voluntary Summer Learning Cohort: Approximately 25 districts and charters schools will be selected. Third party funders will support these districts and schools.
  • Full Year Redesign Cohort: Up to 15 ADSY Planning Initiation Grants of approximately $200,000 each will be awarded by TEA, and grantees will be eligible for continuation grants.

The deadline to submit an application is April 1, 2020. For more information including benefits of the program, other important dates, and to apply visit the TEA website.
