TEA announced the opening of the 2020–2022 Grow Your Own Grant Program and the 2020–2021 Principal Residency Grant.
The Grow Your Own Grant Program is intended to recruit teachers through three separate pathways. Pathway 1 involves recruitment at the high school level. Pathway 2 focuses on transitioning paraprofessionals, instructional aides, and long-term substitutes to teaching roles, and Pathway 3 will develop teachers through clinical teaching assignments and/or intensive pre-service training. Applications for the Grown Your Own Grant Program are due November 15, 2019.
The Principal Residency Grant is intended to provide preparation and certification costs to cover a year-long residency for aspiring principals. Applications for the Principal Residency Grant are due November 12, 2019.
