New Legislative Summary for Board Members Available
TASB Legal Services has finalized the 2019 Legislative Summary for Board Members. This free document contains summaires of bills that the 86th Legislature passed during the legislative session. View the document.

  • Update 116 Preview: New—Local Policy Overview is replacing Vantage Points. 
  • New Annual Review of Key Policies Policy Alert for the 2020-21 school year which identifies policies and exhibits that most commonly need revisions.
  • New Employee Notification Policy Alert for the 2020-21 school year which helps districts comply with state and federal laws that require certain information to be distributed to employees.

Jarrell ISD Hires New Superintendent

On October 29, the Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Toni Hicks as the district’s new superintendent. Hicks most recently served as the assistant superintendent in Liberty Hill ISD.

Denver City ISD Hires New Superintendent

On October 29, the Denver City ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire Patrick Torres as the district’s new superintendent. Torres most recently served as the assistant superintendent in Red Oak ISD.

Burkburnett ISD Names Lone Finalist

On October 15, the Burkburnett ISD Board of Trustees named Brad Owen as the lone finalist for the position of superintendent. Owen currently serves as assistant superintendent in Burkburnett ISD.

Sam Rayburn ISD Names Lone Finalist

On October 13, the Sam Rayburn ISD Board of Trustees named Lance Campbell as the lone finalist for the position of superintendent. Campbell currently serves as superintendent in Lone Oak ISD.

Queen City ISD Hires Executive Search Services

On September 22, the Queen City ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire TASB Executive Search Services (ESS) to conduct a search for a new superintendent.
