As COVID-19 cases continue to increase across the United States and abroad, districts may want to use a recent travel reporting form to track travel of employees and students.
COVID-19 has been reported in most states, and some areas are experiencing community spread of the disease. Crowded travel settings, such as airports, may increase a person’s risk of exposure if other travelers are infected.
HR Services has developed two travel reporting forms, Recent Travel Form—Employee and Recent Travel Form—Student, now available in the HR Library. These forms will be helpful in collecting information to be used to inform local decisions. Guidance is provided in Managing Employee Exposure to COVID-19, also available in the HR Library. The safety of employees and students across the state of Texas is of the utmost importance.
If employees or students find it necessary to travel, HR can stress the importance of practicing precautions to prevent contracting or spreading COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases. These precautions include:
- Know how it spreads
- Through respiratory droplets
- Take steps to protect yourself
- Wash your hands often
- Avoid close contact—maintain a distance of six feet from others
- Take steps to protect others
- Stay home if you are sick
- Cover coughs and sneezes
- Wear a face covering
- Clean and disinfect
More details on precautions used to protect yourself can be found on the CDC website.
