Welcome to the HRX!
It's been a long time coming and we're beyond excited to make this transition, which undoubtedly will improve the way you receive and interpret our content and guidance.
This new format has three major improvements, starting with:
Categories
Categories are what you see at the top of the page, just under the logo and search bar. Four of the categories are general topics we commonly write about and the fifth, Other HR, is a place where our miscellaneous posts will live. When you click on a category, say, Recruiting and Hiring, it'll take you to a list of all stories we've written in the past three years and categorized with that specific topic. This is really beneficial if you're looking to learn about some broad recruitment and retention strategies and want to see some of the stories and guidance we've written about it.
Tags
Think of tags as more specific categories, and instead of living at the top of the page, you can find them at the bottom of each story we write. They work best when you have a more specific topic you want to look into. For example, the story "Texas Districts Increasing Contribution Amounts Amid Rising Premiums" is categorized under Compensation and Benefits, but there are other layers to the article. Perhaps you want to read more stories about health insurance. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and there's a Health Insurance tag you can click that'll take you to a page with other stories tagged similarly. Pretty handy, huh?
Search
In the top right corner of the screen, you'll see a search bar. It's pretty self-explanatory, I also wanted to point out a couple of additional things:
- It's much improved compared to our last search system
- You can sort results by relevance or date
Staying with the previous example under Tags, let's say you type in the words "health insurance." Not only will that bring up stories tagged with that phrase, it'll also show other stories with those two words anywhere within the story in the search results. This is the way to go when you are looking to get as specific as possible in your quest for HR knowledge.
Additionally, you can now access the TASB HR Services home page from anywhere on the HRX blog. All you have to do is click the "Back to HR Services" button in the very top left corner of your screen, and you'll be right back on our landing page. Just below that is our HRX logo, and that's actually a link to take you to the HRX blog landing page.
Timeliness
We’ll still send bi-weekly emails with recaps of the most relevant and popular stories posted in the previous two weeks, but you no longer have to wait to read them all at once. By following us on Twitter, you can be notified as soon as we post a story, or you can just add the HRX page to your bookmarks and check back whenever you want.
We want to thank you for your patience and loyalty as we make this move to a more modern format. Please send us any feedback you have on the site by e-mailing me or reaching out to us on Twitter.
