At the 2020 HR Academy, HR Services introduced HR Mentorship Connections, a new program designed to connect novice HR staff with experienced HR professionals willing to serve as a mentor.
Academy participants were surveyed to identify interest in participating either as a mentee or mentor. The majority of respondents were new HR administrators wanting to be assigned a mentor. As a result, we’re in the process of recruiting experienced HR administrators to serve as mentors.
As a mentor, an individual would be expected to provide support on an as-needed basis via phone and email. To qualify as a mentor, you will need to have or do all of the following:
- Minimum of three years of experience in school district human resources
- Willingness to share best practices and your own lessons learned in solving HR-related problems
- Provide resources to acclimate the new HR administrator to their role
