The Internal Revenue Service Issues Redesigned Form W-4

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has redesigned Form W-4 to increase simplicity, privacy, and accuracy.

Beginning on January 1, 2020, all new employees first paid after 2019 will be required to complete the redesigned form. Employees paid prior to 2020 may also complete the redesigned form to adjust withholding.  Employees who have already submitted Form W-4 are not required to submit a new form merely because of the redesign.
