The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced a deadline extension of Forms 1095 from January 31 to March 2.
The 1095 forms are used by employers to report whether they offered eligible employees affordable health coverage that provides minimum essential coverage and meets the minimum value threshold. Employers subject to the Affordable Care Act must distribute the 1095 forms to employees and file copies with the IRS.
Here are the important deadlines to remember:
- March 2: Deliver 1095B and 1095C forms to employees
- February 28: Paper filing with the IRS
- March 31: Electronic filing with the IRS
