The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) released today a fact sheet addressing the applicability of white collar exemptions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) to common jobs in higher education.
The fact sheet provides information on minimum wage and overtime exemptions common to higher education jobs, including:
- Professional employees
- Administrative employees
- Graduate teaching assistants
- Research assistants
- Student residential assistants
