Lemond Flowers Elected to State Association Board

Austin— Angela Lemond Flowers of Houston ISD has been elected to a three-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 4, Position D. The election was held during the Association’s 2023 Delegate Assembly on Sept. 30 in Dallas.

Lemond Flowers is secretary of the Houston ISD School Board. She was appointed to the board in June 2023.

A native Houstonian, she earned a bachelor’s in English literature from Mount Holyoke College and a master’s in educational leadership from Columbia University. She has worked in education for 25 years, including as a teacher and administrator. She currently teaches high school English.

During her professional career, Lemond Flowers has served as director of alumni leadership development for Teach For America and as executive director of Writers in Schools. She is actively involved in Jack and Jill of America, Leadership for Educational Equity, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and The Girlfriends, Inc.
