Carbone Elected to Interim Position on State Association Board
Austin— The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors has elected Crystal Carbone of Pearland ISD to an interim position on the TASB Board, representing TASB Region 4, Position C.
Carbone is president of the Pearland ISD Board and has served the district as a trustee since 2018.
Her professional career spans a range of roles, from providing mental health services to adults and adolescents to coordinating research on adolescent treatment and addiction. Carbone previously served as a licensed specialist in school psychology for Pearland ISD, where she worked closely with students and families to address mental health and educational needs. She holds a dual master’s degree in clinical and school psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
As an active leader, Carbone earned the Master Trustee designation in 2022 through the Leadership TASB program and was named the 2021 Pearland Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year. She is currently serving as the secretary-treasurer of the Gulf Coast Area Association of School Boards. She has previously served as a founding board member of the Pearland ISD Education Foundation, vice-chair of the Adult Reading Center, chair of the Pearland Library Board, vice-president of the Pearland Silverlake Lions Club, and member of the Brazoria County Child Welfare Board.
