Bullard Elected to State Association Board
Austin— Marlene Bullard of Tornillo ISD has been elected to a three-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 19. The election was held during the Association’s 2024 Delegate Assembly on Sept. 28 in San Antonio.
Bullard joined the Tornillo ISD Board of Trustees in 2012 and is currently the board president. She is a Leadership TASB graduate and Master Trustee.
She earned her bachelor’s in English and sociology from Austin College and her master’s in educational leadership from the University of New Mexico. She began her education career in Bonham ISD and has also taught in Tornillo ISD. In 2005, she moved to Fabens ISD, where she is currently an assistant principal.
Bullard is active in the Far West Texas School Boards Association, El Paso Texas Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents, El Paso chapter of Texas Council of Women School Executives, and Raise Your Hand Texas Teacher Advisory Group.
