TASB Media Honor Roll
Nominate a reporter or media outlet to be on the TASB Media Honor Roll for responsible coverage of Texas public education.
2021 Media Honor Roll, San Angelo ISD
Journalists play a valuable role in public education. The TASB Media Honor Roll was created to recognize these individuals and media outlets for reporting fair, accurate, and balanced stories on our schools. School districts can nominate their local media representatives for this award each year. This year’s deadline to submit your nomination is Friday, June 14, 2024.
TASB recognizes media representatives in three categories: print, radio, and television.
Criteria for honorees include the following:
- Make the effort to get to know the superintendent, board president, and district’s mission and goals
- Report school news in a manner that is fair, accurate, and balanced
- Highlight positive developments in schools
- Visit campuses in the district
- Maintain a policy of no surprises by sharing information with school representatives
School districts will need to complete the form by Friday, June 14, 2024. In July, TASB will send districts personalized certificates that are suitable for presentations to journalists at board meetings. A sample proclamation will be emailed to you.
