About Us
Our mission: The mission of Executive Search Services is to assist Texas Association of School Boards' members in the recruitment and selection of a chief executive officer or other key administrator.
Our philosophy: The governing board directs the search and makes all the decisions. It chooses the best schedule and time line to meet its needs and selects the most qualified candidates to interview after reviewing all applications.
The most important criterion for judging a successful search is the "fit" or compatibility between the board and the candidate. Executive Search Services (ESS) consultants recommend candidates to achieve a strong fit so the new leadership team will be effective and pleased with the new relationship.
The search is confidential. This commitment to guarding each applicant's privacy helps attract the best qualified candidates.
Our success: Since 1988, ESS has assisted more than 500 Texas school districts in hiring a superintendent/chief executive officer (CEO). These clients range in size from 100 to more than 197,000 students.
We successfully completed almost 40 percent of all superintendent/CEO searches conducted by firms in Texas during the past five years. More than 70 percent of those superintendent/CEOs stay in the position at least four years.
Also, ESS conducts searches for both community college presidents and school district key administrative positions. Additionally, many members take advantage of our "no-fee," post-your-own announcements for superintendent/CEO and key administrative vacancies. All position announcements appear on the TASB Web Site and are accessible state- and nationwide.
Our guarantee: The board's satisfaction is guaranteed. Should a newly hired superintendent/CEO leave the position within one year for any reason other than a family emergency, ESS will continue or reopen the search with no additional consulting fee.
