Congratulations to the regional Superintendent of the Year (SOTY) award winners! The 20 regional winners now advance to the statewide competition for 2022 Superintendent of the Year. The winner will be announced at the TASA | TASB Convention in September. See the list of regional winners

Register your board's delegate now

TASB’s advocacy work on behalf of public schools is determined by our Advocacy Agenda, which is approved at Delegate Assembly, the Association’s annual business meeting. This year, the meeting will take place September 24 during the TASA | TASB Convention in San Antonio. Your school board may appoint one delegate and one alternate to serve as your representatives at Delegate Assembly. Attend for a chance to win! Delegates will be entered into a drawing for one of ten $1,000 student scholarships, provided by the TASB Risk Management Fund, TASB Energy Cooperative, and BuyBoard. Registration is open now.

Need CEC? Attend Summer School!

Registration opens July 25 for TASB's Virtual Summer School for TrusteesSelect sessions from the 2022 Governance Camp and Summer Leadership Institute will be available for you to view and earn continuing education credit (CEC), all from the comfort of your boardroom, office, or home. Sessions will be available immediately after registering, and all sessions will close on August 26. The registration fee is $250 per district, so your entire team of eight can take advantage of this summer learning experience!  

New board members, get your questions answered

If you're a newly elected trustee, you probably have a lot of questions, especially after attending local orientation and initial board meetings. Candidate endorsements open for TASB Board

Local school boards can endorse a nominated candidate from another board in their region for the TASB Board of Directors. Check the list of candidates to see if a position is open in your region. The endorsement form (pdf) is due August 29.

School board candidate webinar August 10

Prospective school trustees have an opportunity to learn more about the role of boards and board members during our free Preparing to Serve webinar August 10.
