Joe Ball, Senior Attorney
Joe Ball joined TASB Legal Services in April 2015.
In 1986, Joe graduated with a B.A. in Education from the University of Dallas and became a Texas certified teacher. For four years, Joe taught 5th grade students at Irving ISD.
Joe then received his law degree from Southern Methodist University in 1993. While at SMU, his Comment, “Efficient and Suitable Provision for the Texas Public School Finance System”, was published by SMU Law Review.
After a brief period working for general civil law firms, Joe returned to his educational roots in 1997 when he began working at the school law firm of the Law Offices of Robert E. Luna, P.C. During his 18 year tenure, Joe represented North Texas public independent school districts in a wide variety of matters: Chapter 21 hearings, grievances, tax ratification elections, tax increment reinvestment zones, student discipline, OCR investigations, litigation, open meetings, public information, and contracts.
Away from the office, Joe enjoys spending time with his family, exercise (the moderate kind), movies, plays, and good books (in hard copy), and travel. Joe recently learned to scuba dive, so he can swim with the sharks in and out of the water.
