The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is now accepting applications for the National Board Candidacy Cohort Grant for 2023–2024, which would support districts pursuing Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) funds.
TEA states the intent of the program is to increase teacher effectiveness and retention through the National Board certification process and to support district efforts to increase the number of teachers with recognized designations through the TIA.
TEA estimates 18 grants will be awarded ranging from $20,000 to $50,000 to be spent on external partnerships, mentoring for National Board candidates, limited travel, and substitute coverage for candidates.
Local education agencies (LEAs) and education service centers (ESCs) can access the application on the TEA Grant Opportunities page. The deadline for submission is October 31, 2022.
