Educator Misconduct Guidelines Posted to TASB Legal Services’ eSource

Two new documents on the subject of educator misconduct are available on the Legal Services eSource website.

The first document, Guidelines for Responding to Allegations of Educator Misconduct, was developed in collaboration with representatives from school districts, law enforcement, the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC), the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), and other entities. The guidelines provide considerations for school districts to develop plans with local authorities for responding to allegations of sexual harassment, improper relationships, and child abuse.

The other document posted is the Timeline for Responding to Allegations of Educator Misconduct, which summarizes reporting duties and other issues addressed in the guidelines.
