Ian M. Steusloff, Staff Attorney

Ian SteusloffIan joined TASB Community College Services in November 2020. In that role, Ian provides legal advice, policy development, and training services to community college members and provides additional legal support to TASB’s other service areas that assist community college members.

Prior to joining TASB, Ian served the Texas Ethics Commission for 15 years as an attorney, including as general counsel, and worked extensively in ethics compliance and enforcement, open government, rulemaking, and other regulatory matters. Ian also worked as an attorney for a municipal law firm and served as a law clerk in the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.

Ian earned a B.A. in philosophy with high honors from the University of California, Riverside; a M.A. in philosophy from Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences; and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was an editor on the Texas Forum on (Journal of) Civil Liberties & Civil Rights. Ian is a member of the Texas Association of Community College Attorneys, the Texas Council of School Attorneys, the National Council of School Attorneys, the Texas Bar College, and the School Law, Government Law, and Legislative and Campaign Law sections of the State Bar of Texas.
