Texas Association of School Administrators' School Board Awards Program (Honor Boards)
Created by the Texas Association of School Administrators in 1971, the School Board Awards Program recognizes those school boards that have demonstrated outstanding dedication and rendered ethical service to the children of Texas. The criteria emphasize evidence of support for educational performance improvement. The awards program allows each regional selection committee to submit up to two nominations for state competition, one from districts with less than 1,000 students and one from districts with more than 1,000.
Each year, one local school district board of directors is chosen as Outstanding School Board and others receive State Honor School Board and Regional Honor School Board designation. This awards program is an excellent opportunity to reward hard-working, dedicated board members with the recognition they deserve.
