San Antonio housing information

Summer Leadership Institute is scheduled for June. We have no plans to postpone, reschedule, or cancel. In an effort to make housing and registration easier, we are pushing back the opening dates for housing. Housing for San Antonio will open Wednesday, April 15, at 9 a.m., and housing for Fort Worth will open Thursday, April 16, at 9 a.m.

    • Wednesday, April 15: Housing for SA opens
    • Friday, May 15: Deposit and Rooming List deadline date to CHM
    • Friday, May 29: Last day to cancel hotel without penalty
    • Friday, June 12: Last day to make hotel changes with CHM
    • Saturday, June 13: Hotel reservation changes and cancellations are now handled directly at your confirmed hotel

Conference registration information

Online registration opens on Wednesday, April 29 and closes Friday, May 22 and can be found through the new Event Calendar

Below are tips to ensure a smooth registration experience:

  1. The User MUST have an active myTASB user ID and password to register—whether you are registering yourself or others.
    • If you need assistance with your myTASB account or the Member Profile application, contact the registrars at registrar@tasb.org or 800.580.8272, ext. 3611.
  2. View the complete list of Session Descriptors (coming 4/22)
    • Session Descriptors will be published the week prior to registration opening. It is imperative that Trustees review the program and select their personal agenda.
  3. Determine which sessions you want to attend by completing the My Choices PDF (posted 4/22) and return the form to your superintendent or designee so they can complete your registration.

Registrations cannot be processed without the My Choices PDF (posted 4/22)!

For the safety and comfort of our attendees, once a session reaches capacity it will no longer be available for selection.

Holding May elections?

If your district is having contested elections this May, you need to wait until after the May 4 election to register your new board members for SLI. TASB’s new registration system requires that all registrants have an active record in the TASB Member directory. You can add or update member information using the Member Profile application within myTASB before registration. We know it is important for your new board members to receive training immediately following their election. Rest assured that we will monitor TASB ISD session registrations so that every newly elected board member will be able to take this course at SLI.

Conference registration fees

New this year, pick the schedule that works best for you and pay just one all-inclusive registration fee of $435.

The all-inclusive fee covers all activities beginning Wednesday evening through Saturday morning
and includes:

  • In-depth preconference session on Wednesday
  • Two full days of sessions focused on professional development for school board members
  • Required SB 1566 training on Saturday*
  • Breakfast Thursday–Saturday
  • Lunch Thursday–Saturday
  • Refreshment breaks Wednesday–Saturday
  • Program materials
  • Up to 19 hours of continuing education credit

*If you’re not attending SLI, the cost for the SB 1566 training only, is $75.

Cancellation/substitution

All registrations must be prepaid by check or credit card or include a school district purchase order. If you sign up but are unable to attend, the following terms will apply:

  1. A registrant may cancel their San Antonio registration and receive a refund, less $50, if the notification of cancellation reaches the Association by Wednesday, June 3, 2020 (14 days before the event).
  2. Beginning Thursday, June 4, no refunds will be provided, but substitutions will be permitted for eligible persons.
  3. No-shows will not be refunded.

The Registration Coordinator may edit, cancel or make name substitutions through the registration system, accessible online through the event registration webpage.

If TASB must cancel the event, TASB will refund registrations in full but will not be responsible for any indirect, special, or consequential damages (including transportation, lodging, and meal costs) sustained by the registrant.

Did you know we can help reserve a motorized scooter for use during the conference? Let us know what arrangements would improve your experience at our event; we are happy to assist.
