Summer Leadership Institute (SLI)

The annual Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) is not only TASB’s flagship training conference, but it is also our learning laboratory. SLI is designed to offer new and experienced school trustees a place to create their own learning journey and to ask bold questions.

Each year, SLI

  • Shares key information following May elections with new board members.
  • Offers practical tips for newly elected board officers.
  • Provides experienced trustees with innovative practices and emerging trends.
  • Give board members the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.

At the heart of SLI is an opportunity for trustees to make connections with one another.

It’s a community where members gather to work together in our shared quest to improve Texas school districts and provide students with an exceptional public education.

It is the culture of SLI to support each other and provide examples of what has worked and what has not worked. We invite you to join us at SLI for this exciting learning journey.

Our members have a choice to attend the SLI that best fits their schedule and location preference — in San Antonio or Fort Worth. The two events are nearly identical in schedule, session offerings, and general session speakers.

Save the dates for SLI 2023:

  • San Antonio, June 14-17
  • Fort Worth, June 21-24
