Governance Camp believes that student voice matters and has infused student participation in this unique conference by highlighting the incredible students in our state. We believe that we cannot create the leaders of tomorrow without letting them lead today.
On Friday, March 1, 2024, breakout sessions will focus on Texas public school students' real-life experiences impacting student achievement and student outcomes. These Student Voice sessions should be presented or co-presented by students about initiatives and programs driven by students or developed by students. The session time is one full hour of content.
More details about presenting a Student Voice Session can be found on the application itself. Any student under 18 must also complete a parental permission form.
Submissions for sessions and demonstrations will open Fall 2023.

Student Voice Panel and Scholarship award
A highlight of Governance Camp is the High School Senior Scholarship and panel. Five students will be selected to join us in Galveston and share their unique public school journey in Texas. Selected students must commit to attend and participate on the panel at the 2024 Governance Camp, Feb. 28-March 2, 2024, to receive the scholarship.

Recipients will receive $1,500 in scholarship monies from our sponsor, Walsh Gallegos.
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance no later than Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Student attendees
